President Bush did make a bad mistake in the war on terrorism. But the mistake was not his decision to go to war in Iraq .
Bush's mistake came in his belief that this country is the same one his father fought for in WWII. It is not. Back then, they had just come out of a vicious depression. The country was steeled by the hardship of that depression, but they still believed fervently in this country. They knew that the people had elected their leaders, so it was the people's duty to back those leaders
Therefore, when the war broke out the people came together, rallied behind, and stuck with their leaders, whether they had voted for them or not or whether the war was going badly or not. And war was just as distasteful and the anguish just as great then as it is today.
Often there were more casualties in one day in WWII than we have had in the entire Iraq war. But that did not matter. The people stuck with the President because it was their patriotic duty. Americans put aside their differences in WWII and worked together to win that war. Everyone from every strata of society, from young to old pitched in. Small children pulled little wagons around to gather scrap metal for the war effort. Grade school students saved their pennies to buy stamps for war bonds to help the effort. Men who were too old or medically 4F lied about their age or condition trying their best to join the military.
Women doubled their work to keep things going at home. Harsh rationing of everything from gasoline to soap, to butter was imposed, yet there was very little complaining.
You never heard prominent people on the radio belittling the President. Interestingly enough in those days there were no fat cat actors and entertainers who ran off to visit and fawn over dictators of hostile countries and complain to them about our President. Instead, they made upbeat films and entertained our troops to help the troops' morale. And a bunch even enlisted.
And imagine this: Teachers in schools actually started the day off with a pledge of allegiance, and with prayers for our country and our troops! Back then, no newspaper would have dared point out certain weak spots in our cities where bombs could be set off to cause the maximum damage. No newspaper would have dared complain about what we were doing to catch spies. A newspaper would have been laughed out of existence if it had complained that German or Japanese soldiers were being "tortured" by being forced to wear women's underwear, or subjected to interrogation by a woman, or being scared by a dog or did not have air conditioning.
There were a lot of things different back then. We were not subjected to a constant bombardment of pornography, perversion and promiscuity in movies or on radio. We did not have legions of crackheads, dope pushers and armed gangs roaming our streets.
No, President Bush did not make a mistake in his handling of terrorism. He made the mistake of believing that we still had the courage and fortitude of our fathers. He believed that this was still the country that our fathers fought so dearly to preserve. It is not the same country. It is now a cross between Sodom and Gomorra and the land of Oz. (We even have the wicked witch of the west as the new Speaker of the House of Representatives.) We did unite for a short while after 911, but our attitude changed when we found out that defending our country would require some sacrifices.
We are in great danger. The terrorist are fanatic Muslims. They believe that it is okay, even their duty, to kill anyone who will not convert to Islam. It has been estimated that about one third or over three hundred million Muslims are sympathetic to the terrorists cause...Hitler and Tojo combined did not have nearly that many potential recruits.
We either win it - or lose it - and you ain't gonna like losing.

I have no faith in the news any more.
Not in CNN, not in CBS, NBC, ABC, The Courious Journal, the Times.. NOT IN ANY OF THEM.
Each and every News organization is using its own bias to report the news. It is hypocritical of any politician to say he is not going to be interviewed by CNN just because it is conservative when the other networks are NOT going to present the Conservative View.
We have a problem in this country. Labels.
Libs and NeoCons need to stop thinking of each other as such and start to understand that the whole truth must be told not partial truths. News media hold back things that do not promote the report they are making. How could we possibly EVER know anything is improving in Iraq, when every news organization EXCEPT FOX and CNN was against the war in Iraq from the start. Of course we are not going to see anything from them that is not going to make G.W. Bush look bad! How dumb are you.
Worse yet is the simple fact that this is playing directly into the hands of the Islamic Fundamentalists.
The media could end this war in 6 months.. Yes the media in this country is powerful enough to end this war sooner than later and to stop the deaths but it will not do that.
WHY? Because the media invested in NOT going into Iraq.
Because the media was against the war from the beginning, chastising Democrats that voted for the war. Hillary Clinton will NOT be elected President because she went against the media in authorizing this war. Barrak Obamma MIGHT win. Why? Because he was against this war from the beginning. Look at the coverages. Obamma was a State Legislator in 2004. NOW due to a quirk in election laws he is a Senator from Illinois.
We are not getting the truth from the media.
CNN slants its news to support the war, Fox does too.
The other networks slant it the other way..
My feeling is that no matter whether we should or should not have gone into Iraq is irrelevant and became irrelevant when Al Queda showed up in Iraq. We can debate the invasion to death, but the reality is that Al Queda wants to destroy the world we live in. They are the enemy.
Al Queda is willing to unleash any and all methods of destruction to meet its goal of world domination and if the world only has 2 true believers when it is over then that is fine with them. They will have gone to heaven and been given their 70 Virgins in return for dying in Jihad.
You can call me a NeoCon, you can call me a Liberal but this is a FACT.
Al Queda wants Anarchy. The destruction of the world's economy, and the destruction of government as a whole.
This would make them the only hope left.
Like Hitler sold his bill of goods to Good German People .. Ossama Bin Laden is selling his bill of goods to the Islamic world.
It has begun to get old and stale to non fundamentalists.
Sunni's are banding together to toss out Al Queda.
Shi Ites are starting to do the same.
(Of course I am depending on what the President said and not the media here)
WE CAN WIN.. We can do it quickly and with fewer deaths.. but the MEDIA has to convince the people. The "Hearts and Minds" of America must be in this. We need to donate money and material to help Iraq become a free nation. We must rebuild it with the same fervor that we donated money after the Tsuanami.
A Rebuilt Iraq, in the center of the Arab world would become an Economic Steam Engine. Attracting business, investment, and other Arabs looking for a better life.
We can do this.. but the media must do a 180 and help.
We know this will not happen and in the end, if Mr. Bush Caves in to the polls and the traitors among us we will have anarchy in our time.
The major networks and news media have said from the beginning that this war against this dictator was not worth the price of American lives..
What does Ossama Bin Laden Preach? That Americans will not sacrifice life for principal. We will when confronted with death and destruction run.
To that end the Press in this country is aiding and abetting Ossama Bin Laden.
Shame on all media for NOT reporting all aspects of the war.
Do you really believe that in 30 minutes you can get all the news good and bad from Bagdad on the Nightly News .. and don't forget they have to do the sports and weather too. The Truth is Al Queda wants YOU and I DEAD..... and they will try to achieve it through any means necessary.

Seperation of Church and State...

YOU need to reread the Constitution. It does not mandate seperation of church and state. Here is what it says: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Establishment of Religion.. a church. NOT A Faith. It is based on the Church of England taking over and ruling England. NO CHURCH will be recognized.. it says no where in the Constitution that there is a Seperation FROM the Christian Faith. Our Laws, our constitution and our existence is due to our belief in God. We are in fact a Christian Nation which allows any faith to practice here within the Christian Ideal.. ( Meaning they do not do human sacrifice or commit crimes in their faith against Christian Peoples.)

Now if you want to interpret it another way go ahead, but NO WHERE does it say there is a Seperation of Faith and Government.. ONLY that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. NO SPECIFIC RELIGION will be recognized as that of the people.. Religion: Catholic Religion / Protestant Religion / Anglican Religion... NOT FAITH.
THERE is no mandate in the Constitution to stop Christianity... ONLY the recognition of one against the other.

Losses in Iraq can be tied to Democratic Defeatism.

The sad part is that what I am about to say is proven by the Terrorists themselves.
We are losing men in Iraq directly because of Democratic congressmen like Mr. Ried and Senator Kennedy. The terrorists depend on the actions of these men to help them to divide this country and to win in Iraq. Each and every time we make headway in Iraq, the terrorists attack and kill more people. Iran has joined the attempt to direct American Public Opinion by helping to kill innocent civilians and to kill OUR SOLDIERS.
When Democratic Senators and Congressmen demand a pullout of American Troops they play into the hands of the terrorists. As opinions against the war get worse the attacks get worse.
Our resolve is being tested and WE ARE LOSING to EVIL MEN!

Social Security.... Democrats are the PROBLEM!!!

I am not a huge fan of Ann Coulter. I find her brand of conservatism a bit lacking. Still and all I do know when someone is getting hosed in the press. For those who did not hear the entire statement that Ms Coulter made when she stated that she had learned her lesson.. she should not call Mr. Edwards a Faggot, she should wish he died in a terrorist attack.. To put this in context..
The full statement she made stated that Others had wished that Vice President Dick Cheney had been killed in an attack in Afghanistan. She was pointing out that no one had gotten upset when pundits had made that statement so instead of calling people names she should just say "I wish John Edwards had been killed in a terrorist attack."
In Fact Ms. Edwards was complaining about something that was not about her or her husband. Of course the Liberal Press play the part of the story about Ms. Coulter saying she wished John Edwards killed in a terrorist plot without playing what led up to it.
Shame on the Press and on Entertainment Tonight for this poor journalistic tactic.

War was declared on the United States in 1992 by Ossama Bin Laden. The first attack occurred in 1993 when the first attack on the World Trade Center occurred. Since then there have been attacks by local Al Queda Cells on this country and its citizens on every continent but South America, and the Antartic.
Problem is that the people in this country do not understand and have not had to sacrifice for like the "Greatest Generation" that lost 250,000 in its fight to stop Hitler.
We are at war with an enemy who will NEVER surrender, will NOT negotiate, and who sees negotiation as a weakness. They may sign an agreement, agree to peace but in the end they will try to kill each and every person who is not part and parcel in line with the Wahabi Beliefs of Islam.
These beliefs demand the extinction of all non-believers.
DO YOU GET THAT?
We can not leave Iraq. If we do the Wahabi Sect Mullahs, and the Al Queda nut jobs will take over. There will be plenty of oil revenue to allow them to purchase if not develop Nuclear Weapons with which they can attack this country.
Sadly they will use OUR OWN Freedoms against us.
They are using our own technology against us now. Do you really believe that all of the conspiracies you see on the internet are not helped along by small tidbits of misinformation that is being sent out by Al Queda and the Wahabi Sect?
This whole 9-11 was a Bush Attack nonsense? This is Al Queda trying to tear us apart from within using our own internet to provide the impetus for this dissent.
ONE GUY even says that the planes that hit the WTC were not big enough to be the Boeing Planes.. that they were drones that hit the towers..

World War 2 was a major disaster. D-Day was so incompetent that Hitler believed for 2 days that the Americans and English really were going to hit another part of the coast of France. Over 2500 died on Omaha Beach due to total chaos and confusion. Tanks were dumped into 30 feet of water that were meant to provide cover to the men on the beach.
Yet we scream of the TERRIBLE cost of invading Iraq in the deaths of our yound soldiers.. Yes I cry ever time I see a name, yet I remember too the grandfathers of some of these men. 250,000 Killed in World War 2. 20 Million Europeans, Africans, Australians, Asians and Americans who died in WW2 because we failed to stop a dictator whom Sadam took lessons from in horrifying death and destruction.
A man who Sadam and others of the Wahabi Sect look to as a hero because he wanted the end of all Jews.
What is the solution if not continuing to fight and give Iraq a FREE government?
What would you do?
Instead of talking about our country like it is so terrible for taking out a man who would have killed millions tell me what YOU would do different to stop the terrorists who are using our FREEDOMS against us. Who abuse their rights in this country to plot and to plan to attack us.
You talk a good hatred, but what would you do to STOP the US EMPIRE from helping poor people who are being murdered by horrible people?

My solution is to take out the haters and to rebuild the countries infrastructure so that the people can live normal lives. We are doing that in Iraq and in return Al Queda kills not only Sunni's but Shiite's. Why? Because they depend on Poor, Stupid, Uneducated and deprived people to continue their hate.
We are attempting to restart a country and while the campaign was not run properly from the beginning the alternative to staying and continuing to rebuild is to leave Iraq in chaos and to give Al Queda a new country to restart their terror from.
IF Iraq goes, Europe will be in flames within 5 years.
In 10 years the United States will be isolated and bankrupt. No military to defend us. Open to invasion by ill equipped and ill prepared Al Queda militants who will kill indiscriminately. Communities will be isolated and will be forced to defend themselves.
This is what happens if we fail in Iraq.

Well, Jim, I don't know about you, but I love this country. That's why I am so concerned about what the combination of neo-cons, Christian fundies, corporations, and flag-waving, goose-stepping thugs have done with it.

It scares me that people really believe that there are goose stepping thugs in this country. I would like for you to Identify who you think this is. Conservatives like myself and the Christian Fundamentalists, apparently are BAD. Why? We believe in God. We believe in Freedom, and in what this country stands for. What we do not believe in is creating special classes and special rules for special groups. The Christian Religion preaches love of EVEN the sinner. While some Fundies as you call them do not believe that this country should seperate Church beliefs from Freedom beliefs I do. I do not care if 2 men or 2 women co-habitate, I think you are free to choose. God gave us free choice so I do not care what you do in the privacy of your home..
Beyond that I do not see the problem with Corporations. (Well not most) Corporations provide jobs, profits, investment, research things that individuals can not due because of the problems of Litigation this country has.. and that is a LIBERAL Deal.. not a conservative one.
If an individual were to invent a drug doing the research and all the work and it saved lives.. ONLY to be found to have dire side effects for which he was sued? End of the individual. That is why corporations began and were allowed to exist. Corporations have deep pockets and can at least survive.
As for your view that this country is an Empire? How do you figure that?
Because we are trying to set up a FREE Government in Iraq?
If we had gone into Somalia and done this or to Africa during the great rampages of the 90's where millions died would you feel the same way?
It was the Democrats that ignored the death and destruction in Africa because there was no oil there. It was Clinton who allowed Ossama Bin Laden to get started and the to grow as a threat.
You talk like we are fighting in Iraq for the oil companies, but the oil will be turned over to the new Iraqi Government and to the people IF we defeat Al Queda. Iraq will have its own government and its own chosen freedoms. How does that make the US an Empire?
Our men are fighting TERROR not for corporations and if you were to suggest to a soldier that he was fighting for oil he would most likely tell you YES.. we are fighting for oil, so that the Iraqi People can have it and use it to recreate a FREE country where women can walk down the street with no fear of being raped by the dictators sons.

Soldiers Deserve the right to WIN a war.

How do you win a war when the Press, Media, and the Liberal Politicians declare it lost?
How do soldiers fight and die knowing that at home they have lost the war?
This is the mind boggling problem I see in this country today.
Sadly we have lost approximately 3500 men in the war on terror just in Iraq.
Yet for some reason this seems to the liberal mind to be a terrrible toll of lost souls. Yes, I said it.. seems to be a terrible toll when in fact this war has had fewer casualties than most of the battles of the civil war.
We are soft. We are weak when 3500 men killed in action causes us to declare a war lost.
We are not willing as a nation any more to make the sacrifices needed to remain free and to remain safe.
I hear the libs saying "America does not attack first"! Where has that gotten us in the past? The sinking of the Lusitania? The Sinking of the Maine? Pearl Harbor? and of course 9-11? Revenge is sweet, but preventing the deaths of 2900 individuals on 9-11 seems to me to be a great reason to attack an enemy. Israel waited to be attacked and lost hundreds of soldiers in 1968. We do not attack our enemies is a STUPID policy that gets people killed.
Sadam Hussein was a Weapon of Mass Destruction in and of himself. He was a ticking time bomg waiting to go off and to start a major world conflict. He was looking for ways to attack this country and had the money thanks to the Oil for Food Program that was run by the son of Khofi Anan. Thanks to the end of the Soviet Empire there are plenty of nukes on the market and it was a matter of time till Sadam found one. Millions of American Dollars were found in Iraq. Were they REAL or counterfeit? Was Sadam able to counterfeit enough money to turn the US Economy into mush through the dumping of Billions in counterfeit money? No one will answer that question, yet the billions of dollars that were found were destroyed.
This nation can no longer wait to be attacked. Doing so is tantamount to suicide when the right attack on the right target could criple the entire nation, its economy and its infrastructure.
To the "America does not attack crowd" I say YOUR F-ing nuts if you think that this country can live by this kind of motto. NO nation in this age of Nuclear weapons can afford to give the enemy the first punch. Its like Muhammed Ali giving George Frazier a free shot in a Heavy Weight bout. Chances are that George is going to knock Ali out with one freebie... yes if he does not then Ali is going to come back and clean his clock, but I would rather NOT be reeling from the first punch when I am trying to take out my enemy.
Shame on the "We do not attack crowd" you are short sited and suicidal.

Fred Thompson for President .. Endorsement

I have felt for a long time that Mr. Thompson had the right stuff to be the President. While he has not run a state, he is well educated, and expresses himself in succinct and direct statements.
His knowledge of history and of the law are excellent, and he has no hint of scandal in his past. In fact he was instrumental in the demise of Mr. Nixon. He authored the question... "What did the President Know and when did he know it."
It changed the course of the impeachment of Nixon.
He then went home to Tennessee and managed to take down a corrupt governor who was taking bribes for pardons and paroles.
Beyond that there is no hint of scandal attached to this man.
He is a Regan Conservative and while I was young dumb and full of vision, I did not like Regan when he ran. I do appreciate now what he accomplished.
I hope Mr. Thompson is elected. He will serve this country well and protect it.

Global Warming? An Inconvenient Truth..... Its not real...

The earth is warming naturally, and possibly has some minor help from man.. however this is NOT the warmest the earth has ever seen and may be a normal part of the ebb and flow of temperatures that the earth has seen.

One of the things that got me to thinking about Global Warming and the REAL Inconvenient Truth is that there have been a lot of recent Archeological finds in ice fields and where there used to be glaciers.. What does this mean? That despite the simple fact that the world is warming, it is NOT warmer than any time in the past. Finding human remains in areas where glaciers were means that at some time in the past there was NOT ice in this location. The biggest story I have heard of is a silver mine in the Alps which supposedly was recently found. It got frozen in and was abandoned when the ice did not retreat... at some time in the past.. If it is now "Unfrozen" then the world temps at one time were the SAME as they are now.!!

Description
In recent decades accidental discoveries of archaeological and paleontological remains have been reported from glaciers around the world. These finds demonstrate that humans and animals repeatedly have used specific areas of perennial snow and ice for thousands of years. Frozen organic artifacts from these sites provide detailed information unavailable from other types of depositional environments. They also provide data important to understanding high-latitude and high-altitude human adaptations and to interpreting and dating artifacts recovered from other contexts. The current period of global warming presents an opportunity to identify glaciers and perennial ice and snowfields holding potential for archaeological and paleontological site discovery. Monitoring melting ice is necessary to identify and preserve these unique, rare, and ephemeral archaeological remains. Approximately 10 percent of the Earth's land surface is underlain by permafrost or covered by perennial ice and snow (Times Atlas 1999:39). Small glaciers (all glaciers other than the Greenland and Antarctica ice sheets) occur in high-latitude and high-altitude environments and comprise roughly 4 percent of all land ice (Dyurgerov 2002:10) with an estimated total minimum area of 610,000 [km.sup.2] (Dyurgerov 2002:68: Meier and Bahr 1996). Traditionally these vast areas have been regarded as environments unlikely to attract humans or animals because they are perceived as being comparatively remote and low in biological productivity. As a result, glaciers and perennial snow and ice have been thought to hold little potential for the discovery of archaeological remains. This assumption is incorrect. A Geographic Information System (GIS) model, "Modeling Archaeological Potential of Ice and Snow," or MAPIS, is being developed and field-tested in Alaska's Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve (WSENPP) (Dixon and Manley 2001; Dixon et al. 2003, 2004). Results of the survey reveal that spatial modeling can focus archaeological surveys of: perennial snow and ice, and help document historic and prehistoric archaeological sites. Glacial Archaeology Freezing may be the most ideal condition under which prehistoric organic remains can be preserved. Frozen environments have produced some of the most complete examples of prehistoric human remains and artifacts ever discovered. Tools, clothing, and other materials made from plants and animals usually decompose soon after deposition: however, if frozen, they may be preserved for thousands of years. Their excellent state of preservation makes them suitable for analysis with a variety of analytical techniques, including radiometric dating and isotope analysis. Archaeological remains preserved in Arctic and sub-Arctic permafrost have been recognized and recovered throughout the Arctic (Dixon 1993, 1999: Guthrie 1990: Hansen and Gullov 1989: Hansen et al. 1985: Lobdell and Dekin 1984: Newell 1984; Rainey 1939: Reinhard 1996, 1999; Smith and Zimmerman 1975: Zimmerman and Smith 1975). While permafrost discoveries have been widely documented, reports of archaeological remains from glaciers and ice patches have been rare until recent years. In 1991 the discovery of a Late Neolithic "Iceman" brought world attention to the archaeological potential of glaciers. Found near a 3,200 m glaciated pass in the Tyrolean Alps, the Iceman carried an impressive array of sophisticated technology including armaments, clothing, storage containers, wood-working implements, fire-starting equipment, and even medicinal plants (Kutschera et al. 2000; Oeggl et al. 2000; Spindler 1994). This discovery was soon followed by the pioneering work of Canadian researchers in the southern Yukon Territory of Canada. Near the British Columbia border, several thawing ice patches were discovered containing frozen archaeological and paleontological specimens (Farnell et al. 2000; Farnell et al. 2004; Hare 2001; Hare et al. 2004; Kuzyk et al. 1999). Subsequently, the remains of Kwaday Dan Ts'inchi, meaning "Long Ago Person Found" in Southern Tutchone (Athapaskan), were found in northern British Columbia, Canada. The remains of this individual were discovered along an ice ridge on a glacier at an elevation of approximately 1,600 m in northwest British Columbia, Canada (Beattie et al. 2000). Artifacts recovered with the individual included tools, weapons, clothes, and even trail food. These and other fortuitous discoveries were brought to the attention of archaeologists by outdoor recreationalists. These finds demonstrate that organic artifacts are preserved within these unique frozen depositional environments and that they will continue to be exposed as ancient ice melts. In addition to the archaeological remains that have been reported from mountain glaciers, numerous organic artifacts have been discovered melting from small patches of perennial snow and ice. Canadian scientists have used the term "ice patch" to describe these features (Hare 2001). The Inuit word "aniuvat," meaning permanent snow patches, also is used to describe them (Kusugak 2002:vi). The archaeology of glaciers and aniuvat presents unique challenges. For example, because it is not feasible or practical to dig test pits in glacial ice and aniuvat, archaeologists rely primarily on surface finds. Further, because artifacts are covered by accumulated snow for much of the year, archeologists must conduct surveys during the late summer within the ablation zone, the lower part of the glacier or aniuvat where ablation (melting and evaporation of ice and snow) exceeds accumulation (winter snowfall). Glaciers and aniuvat exhibiting negative mass balance (greater ablation than accumulation) over the course of a year or longer present the best possibility for identifying and recovering artifacts exposed on their surfaces. Once thawed, organic remains soon decompose or are subject to destruction by scavenging animals. Glaciers are depositional environments that present challenges to traditional archaeological concepts of spatial and stratigraphic relationships between artifacts and artifact assemblages. Archaeological research on glaciers requires an understanding of ice dynamics, which are different from geomorphic contexts associated with most archaeological sites. The movement of large valley glaciers and ice fields creates unstable geologic features that present unique archaeological problems. Englacial transport paths (within the glacier) and supraglacial pathways (on the surface of the ice) are important variables in locating archaeological and paleontological remains. Artifacts originally deposited within the accumulation zone will be carried within the ice and exposed in the middle or lower ablation zones. Hypothetically, artifacts initially deposited anywhere within the ablation zone will be carried down glacier, accumulating as "lag" on the surface. Examples from British Columbia (Beattie et al. 2000) and the Tyrolean Alps (Oeggl et al. 2000) demonstrate that these surface deposits may contain artifacts of different ages that initially have been presumed to be contemporaneous. The exceptional preservation of organic artifacts found in these contexts can make them appear to be recent, particularly to the untrained eye. As a result, their full significance may not be recognized. For example, the Iceman from the Tyrolean Alps was regarded as a recent fatality and was initially treated as a forensic case. For these reasons, it is important to date every specimen and not assume that specimens are recent, or that assemblages of objects are contemporaneous. Glaciological principles of kinetics and mass balance are tools that can be applied to help identify promising locales for archaeological survey. In conjunction with field survey, they can be used to identify and eliminate chaotic surface topography within the lower ablation area of specific glaciers. Surface velocities also...

I just heard that View Host Rosie O'Donnell will be leaving for good.. that she will NOT be on any more shows. Now whether she quit over the blow up with Elizabeth or she she got fired, I don't know as yet.. Still I had intended to take her to task over her comments concerning Jerry Fallwell.
Rosie said on the view that she had a hard time believing that any one but his family felt sorrow for his loss.
This is typical of the Ultra Liberal. If they do not think like you they are better off dead.
Ultra Conservatives though will mourn the loss of any person as well as the loss of their soul.
While I did not like Mr. Fallwell I did respect him, what he created, and his Christian beliefs. Mr. Falwell while not happy with the Homosexual lifestyle and did not want it displayed or given privilege, did not hate Homosexuals. Yes he was overly judgemental. Still he would not have walked away from a Liberal and had any person asked for help Mr. Falwell would have helped them.
You can not say that about a liberal.
I should know I was once a liberal and I had that High and Mighty attitude and find myself fighting it every now and then.

In the 1980's Jimmy Carter ignored the serious problem in Iran and allowed a Fundamentalist Freak take over the country of Iran. While the Shah of Iran was not the nicest man in the world, he was fighting what we now know was the worst enemy ever to face any civilized nation.
The taking of Iran by extremists ended with the destruction of Iran. The teachers and educational system were destroyed and rebuilt in the image of the Wahabi Sect. Its goal to destroy the "Great Satan".
This legitimized the movement and gave it a home.
This was the beginning of the world wide development of terror by Islamic Extremists.
In other words... Jimmy Carter started us down the road and is now trying desperately to lay the blame off on ANY one.
I feel sorry for our Elderly Statesman. His comments about this country, Tony Blair and the Bush Administration show a severe problem with logic. The world has changed. Our ways of dealing with terror have to change post 9-11. Another attack similar to 9-11 could cripple the economy, and destroy the nation and the world economies. This is the ultimate goal of Ossama Bin Laden.
With the world in chaos, Ossama and his fundamentalist religion offer hope to people with no hope.
If the world and Mr. Carter fail to understand this then only time stands between the world domination of Fundamentalist Ideology.
If this occurs, people like Mr. Carter will be the first to die at the hands of the extremists. The people who make it possible for Ossama to defeat this country will be the first targets of the purge in Christianity and non Islamic Religions. It is what happened in Iran after the Shah of Iran was deposed, by the Ayatollah Homeini.
Mr. Carter was an irrelevant president in our history EXCEPT for his giving birth to the current Islamic Fundamentalist Ideology by allowing the Ayatollah to take Iran in the first place.
Were Iran still in the US sphere or influence, the attacks of 9-1- most likely would not have occurred. Sadam Hussein would likely still be working with the US instead of plotting our demise only to end with his own.
Mr. Carter is desperate to NOT be the WORST president ever, and will do nothing short of shaming himself to try to put his mistakes and the resulting mess on to a Republican Administration.
I voted for Mr. Carter 2 times. Looking back I know now I was wrong. Age has made me realize what I learned in College was true. Extremist Muslim fundamentalists are evil and are willing to kill everyone on the planet in Honor or Allah. If we do not kill them first they will kill us.
Mr. Carter has never learned this lesson. I believe if he should ever meet Mr. Bin Laden in person he might change his mind.

While I did not necessarily like the Reverend Jerry Fallwell, I did respect his zealous defense of his beliefs. Beliefs he was entitled to by the Constitution of the United States.
Today Rosie O'Donnel called the death of Reverend Fallwell, no great loss except maybe to his own family, and made a face.
Dear Rosie,
If only it had been you instead?
Ms. O'Donnel is very outspoken but has no tolerance for anyone who does not believe EXACTLY as she feels they should.
While Reverend Fallwell may have had rather conservative views and may not have represented the BEST ideas of conservatism, he did LIVE his values and work his values. His Liberty college was a testament to this.
Shame on Ms. O'Donnel and not for the first time.
Imagine a Liberal being intolerant of the beliefs of others.. what a 2 faced BITCH.
What a Big Fricking surprise.
While I do not wish death on any one, Ms.O'Donnel would have been a far better choice than Reverend Fallwell in my opinion.

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton stage several demonstrations in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, "We shall overcome."

Jesse then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's
sake, after which Al Sharpton riles up the crowd even more.

Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy & John Kerry exclaim in an interview with Larry
King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and
both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government.

Hillary gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper in a defamation suit against the ant, and the case is tried before a panel of federal judges that Bill Clinton appointed from a list of single-parent welfare recipients.

The ant loses the case.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't
maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

Disaster is Bad Business (5/1/07)

Last week, a panel of experts recommended lowering the water level of Lake Cumberland an additional 30 feet because they believe not doing so makes it more likely that the seeping Wolf Creek Dam will fail.

Several people involved in the area’s recreational industry oppose this idea. They say the threat of a dam failure is exaggerated, and that lowering the lake level even more would hurt their businesses.

Well, they’re probably right about business being hurt. But it’s pretty clear the danger is real, and I have a hard time balancing their business interests against the billions of dollars and many lives that would be lost if that dam ever does fail.

This situation seems typical of America’s current attitude that no one should ever have to suffer for the greater good, and that sacrifice is for saps.

Our parents didn’t see it that way. They faced some of the century’s greatest threats and paid the necessary price to overcome them. It wasn’t easy, wasn’t fair, and wasn’t cheap, but they did it.

It’s only natural to act in one’s own self-interest. But sometimes, that self-interest needs to give way to bigger needs. And I hope the marina owners around Lake Cumberland understand that.

I’m Bill Lamb, and that’s my…Point of View.

Since Channel 41 has a policy of rebuttal, I contacted the station and was offered time. However in looking at the entire issue and the ramifications of it, and importance to an area of the state that is going to be devastated by this economically more than a minute was needed.
I contacted Channel 41 and asked Mr. Foushee, the PR person who handles requests if Mr. Lamb had read any of the reports by the Corps of Engineers, or the independent report. Surprisingly, ( I am being humorous here) Mr. Lamb had NOT read according to Mr. Foushee any of the engineering reports. I asked Mr. Lamb and Mr. Foushee to meet me for a Lunch paid for by me in order to bring them up to speed on why folks around the damn had asked the Corps to hold the lake at current levels. I was refused.
Here is the letter I got:
Just to make sure, I checked with Mr. Lamb, and he’ll be unable to have lunch with you -- primarily because his schedule is extremely tight, and the majority of his lunches also double as business meetings that deal with matters of more immediate concern regarding the operation of our stations. While he understands your disagreement with him on this issue, it should be obvious that Lake Cumberland is not the number one issue with which he has to contend. He had his opinion, he expressed it, and he’s extended you the opportunity to reply with an equal time rebuttal.
The fact that you’ve chosen not to do so doesn’t obligate him to meet personally with you. If it did, I feel safe in saying he’d never be able to carry out his job because of endless meetings with people who disagree with his editorials but lack the motivation to write and present one of their own.
If this changes your mind and you’d like to accept our invitation to reply on-air, I can still make that happen. Just let me know.

Rush Limbaugh talks daily about the Drive By Media.
This is an excellent example of what he is talking about.
Mr. Lamb has sensationalized an issue without having the slightest bit of information about the dam, its engineering, I am guessing he does not even know the history of the dam and its previous leaks. He also ignores a report that was published by the Corps of Engineers itself in January of 2007 that selected the 680 lake level that the Business Owners are asking for.
He has chosen to condemn the marina owners, motel and hotel owners, guides, and other businesses that depend on the lake for their living.
Let us make no mistake here.
Families will be destroyed by this.
People will lose their homes.
Jobs, businesses and communities are going to be damaged and Mr. Lamb could take the time to comment, but would not take the time to learn the issues.

HERE Are the issues:
The dam began to fail almost immediately upon completion in the 1950's. IN the 60's a crater formed and muddy flow below the dam signaled severe problems. The dam was built over a Carst Geology, (Carst meaning cave) water was leaking under the Dirt portion of the dam. The Corps of Engineers had failed to properly position the dam, and to deal with caverns found when doing the original building of the dam. The dam was within weeks of failing at that time, if not days. Grouting began and emergency repairs were undertaken. IN the early 70's more severe measures were taken to repair the dam
To repair the dam the lake was lowered and a second dam was built inside the first. This second dam was built by drilling into the bedrock below the Carst Geology to solid rock.
The second dam was built to within 20 or 30 feet of the concrete dam, when funds ran out. The leaks stopped but the second dam was never finished, leaving a 20 to 30 foot section that could still leak. Piezometers were buried in the dam to track any leakage or movement. In the last few years more water and movement were detected.
Due to this the Corps of Engineers was required to make the dam a priority for repair. At the same time several dams down stream of Lake Cumberland also began to fail including the dam directly below the lake on the Cumberland River in Tennessee. Should both dams go at the same time the city of Nashville would be endangered.
Because of this situation many people wanted the lake lowered drastically to prevent any issue of failure.
NOW comes the bizarre part.
The Corps engineers know that this dam at Lake Cumberland will take months to fail if not longer. Why? Because the dam only has a problem with the area where the 2 dams were not joined. The leak is currently small and is relegated to that one area. While a breach could occur, it would take days for the water to make its way through the smaller area, any rise would be gradual at first and plenty of warning would be available to get people out of the way of any rising waters. There would be damage to low lying buildings.
Then there began to be other safety issues caused by lowering the dam too much.
Now comes the part I have trouble explaining...
Because the lowered lake is steeper, a small 1" rain that would normally raise the lake maybe half a foot to a foot, at the lowered level the lake would rise double that. Lower the lake below 650 and the change is even more dramatic. The very lowering of the lake would put changing pressures ON the dam at the very place that pressure is the most critical.
So the COE in a report detailed this information. This report came out in January of 2007.
This is the information that led many around the lake to ask for the 680 level instead of the 650 or lower 580 level.
At 680 the lake is big enough to take the water in and have no major changes in pressure. At 680 some power can still be generated. At 680 water intake valves for all cities on the lake are still able to take in water, businesses still can get water to run. However most of the boat ramps would be out of the water.
Thanks to the Governor of Kentucky, those ramps will be in place by Memorial Day.
The most recent Engineering Survey suggested that the lake be lowered another 30 feet. Businesses around the lake are asking that the higher level of 680 be used.
They are NOT asking this out of greed, but out of self preservation.
Current Grouting efforts have slowed the deterioration of the dam.
Any Dam failure would take weeks if not longer, simply because of the previous efforts. There is no need shown in the new report, and the engineers were given parameters for a TOTAL failure of the dam to err on the side of safety.
While some engineers are for a lower lake level, they are forced to deal with this dam and make plans based on a Worst Case Scenario, that is unlikely to occur. They are erring on the side of safety.. However the Corps of Engineers has determined that the safest thing to do is hold the dam at 680 through the summer and to see if the grouting effort has worked.. then to finish the rest of the second dam over the next 5 to 7 years.

Mr. Lamb
You may be right, in that the lake should be lowered for the greater good.
However the lake is currently in no danger and there are circumstances that YOU are not aware of and which make lowering the dam an issue as well.... and they have NOTHING to do with economics.
It is a confusing issue and the reality is that the dam is NOT in imminent danger and the Corps believes the situation is in hand. Do we for the greater good of the people below the dam lower it and destroy the lives of people in 3 counties or for the hold the dam at 680 and hope that the GREATER good is served.
With the situation as it stands, I believe the Corps of Engineers has made the right choice and the businesses areound the dam are doing nothing more than supporting that decision. The grouting is working. The dam is currently in no danger of PARTIAL Failure, and if the Corps is correct in its assessment lowering the dam could pose MORE of a problem at lower levels than at higher levels.
This is NOT as Mr. Lamb suggests, people failing to be willing to suffer for the greater good. This is not an enemy attacking our country. It is a dam with a leak. A leak that has been for the time being slowed if not stopped.
Mr. Lamb has escalated a small problem with the Wolf Creek Dam into an issue of such importance that he portrays these people as unwilling to sacrifice.
OK What is Mr. Lamb willing to sacrifice?
Some Time? NO he is unwilling to read the reports to understand the situation.
Some Money? No he is not willing to do anything to help the businesses around the lake by detailing their plight and encouraging tourism to the area.
Some Sacrifice? NO. Mr. Lamb has nothing to lose on this issue.
It is very easy to sit in an office in Louisville and ask for people to bow to the greater good. It is another thing to actually DO SOMETHING for the greater good and Mr. Lamb has failed the test himself.
The "Greatest Generation" made sacrifices of time, money and their lives. Mr. Lamb is not willing to sacrifice 30 minutes and a free lunch.

The United States made mistakes in the invasion of Iraq. Other nations contributed to the disaster that is Iraq.
We should have invaded with more men.
We should have invaded with better equipment.
We should have left the Iraqi Military in tact.
Hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20.

IN World War 2 Thousands of men died in a practice for the D-day invasion.
Elements of the D-day invasion were mishandled killing thousands more.
We still won. We went past the mistakes, we learned from them, and we WON.

Every day lately we hear about more pending attacks by Al Queda from the Press. The same press that wants us out of Iraq, but is telling us that Al Queda is more of a threat. Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and England are all reporting more Al Queda activity. If this comes about what will be the result?
Will the world fold. Demand we leave Iraq and give Al Queda a victory?
Yes Al Queda.. not Iraq, Not the Sunni's Not the Shiite's but Al Queda.
There is no civil war. What there is, is anarchy that is centered on attacks by Al Queda on both sides in order to foment more anarchy.
This is how Al Queda will take the world. They will create anarchy and hatred.
They are dividing the world and the United States.
Ossama must have been a student of Abraham Lincoln. A nation divided against itself can not stand. A nation that does not stand for the war it is fighting will not win.
We have forgotten 9-11, we have forgotten the terrible price or terror around the world and all of it started by Islamic Fundamentalists over the last 35 years.

It is not Un Patriotic to be against a war. It is UN-Patriotic to stand up in congress and state unequivocally that the war is lost. There is a difference between free speech and un-patriotic speech. Mr. Ried has no clue what the difference is an neither does Mr. Horne.

Mr. Ruby has the right to ask a person of Ill Repute to leave his establishment. The fact that Mr. Simpson is black had nothing to do with his being asked to leave. He was asked to leave because he committed a heinous act and has profitted from it. Had Mel Ignatow tried to eat at Jeff Ruby's and been asked to leave would you have protested then? (For anyone out side the Louisville community, Mel is a guy who got away with Murder much like Mr. Simpson.. only after he was found innocent they found pictures he took at the murder scene in his old house..)
I personally feel that EVERYONE should turn Mr. Simpson away. I feel we should make the City of Louisville a SIMPSON FREE ZONE. Mr. Simpson is not wanted here, and we should say so.

Northup for Governor Campaign

I was at one time a Northup Fan. However I have mixed emotions about her run for Governor. I honestly believe that this is a mistake on her part. She should be taking back her congressional office not taking on the FIRST Republican Governor in 40 years.
Still while Fletcher had one major scandal in his administration, I believe had the law been followed under the Democratic Administrations over the last 40 years Mr. Flectcher would not have been in the situation he was in.
Still and all the State is a better place today than it was 4 years ago under Democrats.
NOW my main problem is the newest of Northup's campaign commercials. The one that shows the Democrats lining up their commercials and here is what they will say.
Ann if you can not take responsibility for the commercial do not run it.
My take is that if they DO run those commercials that at least 3 of the Gubernatorial Candidates can have the same commercial run against them by Fletcher. The Democratic party was rife with favoritism and as a former State Employee who was a Democrat I was exposed to such unfair behavior during the Brown Administration and the turn over to the next governor.
Most State employees have had state jobs denied to them in order to pay off some OTHER Democrat in the last 40 years.
I do not feel sorry for those who lost their jobs under Fletcher. Most likely they got the job due to favoritism from a previous administration. Flectcher's administration has been one of the fairest in hiring in over 40 years DESPITE the indictment of his personell.
Ann if you can not "Take Ownership" of a commercial don't run it.

In what had to be a short sighted mistake, the ABC News Anchor tonite quoted a Service Man killed in Iraq. The soldier from Murfreesboro died near the end of his second tour of duty in Iraq that he VOLUNTEERED for.
The Soldier said in a letter to his son, " We fight and sometimes die, so that our family does not have to." Do we not owe these men our support in fighting this war?
ABC, and other news organizations do almost anything to denegrate this war and what it is about. Today they trotted out a grieving son, only to make the point that Conservative's and others are making. OUR MEN CHOOSE to go and to serve. They chose to fight terror where it is born, and to refuse to provide support, and to micro manage the war, is wrong.
Shame on the news media for failing to support these courageous men.

Alec Baldwin makes as much in a year as I will make in a lifetime.
Yet I seem clearly that this country is great. Is willing to share and to help ANY country at any time of disaster. The ONLY COUNTRY in the world that can on a moments notice fly in tons of relief aid, and doctors and medical supplies .. a country that at any time can and will donate millions if not billions to help strangers. A country that has started most of the technical revolutions of the past 100 years.
This is the country Alec Baldwin and his ilk would attack and call defeated.

"I'm Tired" AMEN !!!!! AND AMEN...

Two weeks ago, as I was starting my sixth month of duty in Iraq, I was forced to return to the USA for surgery for an injury I sustained prior to my deployment. With luck, I'll return to Iraq to finish my tour.

I left Baghdad and a war that has every indication that we are winning, to return to a demoralized country much like the one I returned to in 1971 after my tour in Vietnam. Maybe it's because I'll turn 60 years old in just four months, but I'm tired:

I'm tired of spineless politicians, both Democrat and Republican who lack the courage, fortitude, and character to see these difficult tasks through.

I'm tired of the hypocrisy of politicians who want to rewrite history when the going gets tough.

I'm tired of the disingenuous clamor from those that claim they 'Support the Troops' by wanting them to 'Cut and Run' before victory is achieved.

I'm tired of a mainstream media that can only focus on car bombs and casualty reports because they are too afraid to leave the safety of their hotels to report on the courage and success our brave men and women are having on the battlefield.

I'm tired that so many Americans think you can rebuild a dictatorship into a democracy over night.

I'm tired that so many ignore the bravery of the Iraqi people to go to the voting booth and freely elect a Constitution and soon a permanent Parliament.

I'm tired of the so called 'Elite Left' that prolongs this war by giving aid and comfort to our enemy, just as they did during the Vietnam War.

I'm tired of antiwar protesters showing up at the funerals of our fallen soldiers. A family who's loved ones gave their life in a just and noble cause, only to be cruelly tormented on the funeral day by cowardly protesters is beyond shameful.

I'm tired that my generation, the Baby Boom-Vietnam generation, who have such a weak backbone that they can't stomach seeing the difficult tasks through to victory.

I'm tired that some are more concerned about the treatment of captives than they are the slaughter and beheading of our citizens and allies.

I'm tired that when we find mass graves it is seldom reported by the press, but mistreat a prisoner and it is front page news.

Mostly, I'm tired that the people of this great nation didn't learn from history that there is no substitute for Victory.

Whomever made the choice to show that video, to even open that piece of mail..should be prosecuted for tampering with evidence at the minimum. YOU DO NOT proceed to make copies and to play the evidence on the TV for a grieving nation and to assault the families of the people who died.

In the Aftermath of V-Tech

I am greatly saddened by the events at Virginia Tech. I have a relative who teaches at the school who was not working at the time of the shootings, but had to become involved since she is an EMT. No words can say what my heart feels about this tragedy.
What really rankles me is world leaders like the PM of Australia using this tragedy to criticize our country. While he passed on condolences, he also said it was not surprising due to our "Gun Culture". He went on to talk about how Australia no longer has this kind of worry since the government did a buy back of all guns in the country at the cost of billions of dollars.
What the PM failed to say is that Home Invasions have increased in Australia by over 500% according to some sources.
Guns are tools. Like any tool they can be misused. Yes they can be fatal as we have seen in the last few days. However a rush to judgement on law abiding gun owning citizens is not in order here. While Australia still holds the record for Gun Violence due to a rampage that killed 35 people, it now holds the distinction of having a gun free society that is at the mercy of criminals who no longer have a fear of what is on the other side of the door.
While I worry about my kids, I worry more about them being safe in their home. Take away all guns and only Criminals will have them.. YES that is a tried and OLD saying.. but still apt.
The young man who killed these people was insane. Should not have had a gun, but in the end he legally purchased a gun. This country is built on fairness and justice.
It is not justice to punish people for the crimes of others.
The comments of the PM from Australia were outrageous and disrespectful of this country and its people. Guns are the equalizer. They give society and people a recourse to injustice. I do not subscribe to rebellion or to anarchy. However the greatest document ever written.. the Declaration of Independence states..

People have the right to rebel against injustice and if the government owns all of the guns then the people depend on the government and are also at the mercy of government.
Our founding fathers were aware of this and wrote into our constitution a guarantee that the people could rise against any attempt to take over the government. While I realize this sounds a bit conspiratorial, and maybe even wacko.. if you stop and think about it we do need to worry about the people being powerless against the government and the military it controls. Will it happen in this country? NO I do not believe it will.. However it "Could".
Guns in the hands of the people also lower the possibility of invasion by an outside power. After all if you conquer the military you still have to conquer the people.

I am starting the BIG-BAG-O-WIND Award.
This Award is for the people in our country who use their celebrity to abusive ends and use uneducated or unverified information to rabble rouse against the country and its values..
The First Recipient is Bill Maher the Bag O wind who said the terrorists who took down the towers were not cowards..
( I initially agreed with him, thinking that dying for a cause was noble.. but short nanoseconds later.. I remembered that they sliced the throat of an unarmed woman and let her bleed to death for no reason, other than to terrorize the passengers and crew. That is cowardice plain and simple.)

NOW Mr. Maher says we should NOT elect Presidents who hunt because they get us into wars, postulating that they are cruel to animals so they are war mongers.. I have several exceptions to this statement but it was put into perspective by an Outdoor Writer..

I was watching “Real Time with Bill Maher” the other night and was struck by one of his “New Rules” rules. He ranted about Governor Mitt Romney’s pretending to be a hunter, and then said words to the effect that if we had fewer presidents who hunted, we would get in fewer wars, due to the alleged connection between “cruelty” to animals and cruelty to people.

This intrigued me, so I went back and looked at the record, starting with our first modern conflict, the Civil War (I have counted only real wars, not casual bloodlettings like Ronald Reagan’s debacle in Beirut, or Bubba’s excellent adventure in Somalia):

Civil War, entered into by Abraham Lincoln, a non-hunter.

I would add that Mr. Maher is always funny, but not for the reasons mentioned above.
He thinks he is smart, but most 6th graders have more intelligence and political acumen than Mr. Maher.
He apparently deplores war as we all do, but fails to understand that if you fail to act, as we and the world did with Hitler, little piss ant dictators turn into Mass Murderers.. and while Sadam Hussein had not come quite up to the standard of an Adolph Hitler he was closing in on Mr. Hitlers Numbers on a daily basis. He was a threat to become the next Hitler, and while he was not necessarily a threat when we invaded ... History teaches us that waiting to stop a Dictator kills more than taking him out sooner. We lost 250,000 men killed in WW2. WE have lost 3300 in this war. Wait for Sadam to have NUKES? Threaten the worlds oil supply? Take the world to the brink of economic disaster.. OR stop him NOW.

More Yarmuth Backsliding..

First it was the bridge.. now it is the new Veterans Hospital. I hate to say I told you so.. but I DID. Yarmuth has tried to torpedo EVERY SINGLE project that has provided Louisville with a better environment. He was against Papa John's Stadium, He is against the bridge, he is against the downtown arena, and now against the New VA Hospital. Anne Northup may have voted with the Republicans 94% of the time, but at least she got the community what it needed and Yarmuth is NOT doing that. I will admit that his stand on Iraq has surprised me, but beyond that he is a failure as a Congressman.

“A lot of people want it to be downtown. It makes sense to put it downtown,” Yarmuth said. “We don’t know where there’s enough land.”

He spoke during a news conference in which he praised the VA hospital after taking a tour in the wake of revelations about poor conditions at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

He called the Louisville VA hospital “top-flight,” with “state-of-the-art equipment and state-of-the-art care.”

Veterans Affairs officials announced last summer that the aging complex off Zorn Avenue will be replaced, becoming one of the nation’s first new veterans hospitals in more than a decade.

It is well-known that the hole in the west wing of the Pentagon, less than 18-foot diameter, was too small to accommodate a Boeing 757, but the North Tower’s hole wasn’t big enough for a Boeing 767 either, the alleged widebody airliner used on AA Flight 11 (officially tail number N334AA, FAA-listed as "destroyed"). A Boeing 767 has a wingspan of 155’ 1" (47.6 m) yet the maximum distance across the hole in the North Tower was about 115 feet (35 m), a hole undersized by some 40 feet or 26 percent.

OK, lets look at this on FACE VALUE.. call it the Occum's Razor test...
IF the planes that hit the trade center were not the planes that the air lines say they were.. WHERE are the people?

Who out there thinks that CBS, CNN, NBC, ABC, and the Educational Networks are basically "Liberal" leaning.
Who out there thinks that Fox might show the other side of the coin.

The top 3 candidates for President in the Democratic Party are refusing to be part of a debate that includes the Fox Network.
What is the result of this "Partisan" action?
A larger split in the way the country views of all things.. "Its Self"
Democrats are driving a wedge into this country that will not be removed.
Do I believe that Fox News is Conservative? YES! Most definitely. It is good in a country with 3 major networks that are all Liberal or Democrat Leaning to have a Network that is not promoting the "Liberal" Agenda.
FINALLY WE are getting both sides of the "Spin" in the news and not just one side.
By refusing to debate in an "EVENT" sponsored by Fox News and the Congressional Black Caucus, these people are showing that they will not be the President of "All" the people but the president of the Democratic Party.
Fox is not controlling the questions, the spin or the questioners.. they are only sponsoring the event. This is hypocrisy of the highest order and unworthy of any presidential candidate.
It is the job of the President to protect "All" of the people and the rights of "All" not just the rights of the Democratic Party. This refusal to debate is indicative of the problems in this country which are tearing it apart.

While doing a bit of research on the burning temperatures of jet fuel, I ran across a pretty interesting site and wanted to make sure you knew about it:

I find it immensely frustrating, as I know you do, to put across any intelligent point in 500 words or less, and as the debate gets more technical -- as the jet fuel temperatures can be -- it could turn into a full-time job.

One thing I have not yet seen worked into the equation is the blowtorch effect that I know has to exist from two sources -- the high prevailing winds blowing high up on a skyscraper, and the blast from the huge air-handling system that was probably still moving air through the ductwork, or at least through the plenums (in the central utility column, I assume) as long as the emergency power to the air system was still operating. How much this would raise the temp above the "open-air burn temperature" of 600F, I can't guess. I know it doesn't take a lot of air to raise a hand-forge temperature to a point where steel is red-hot, and maybe white-hot. You may recall also the "Sherman Neckties" -- rails that the @$#%* Union troops heated over wood fires until they were red-hot in the middle, and then twisted around a tree (one man at each end). This was a period where steel was replacing rolled wrought iron rails, so what type predominated in the South in 1864, and how much difference it would make .... I just don't know.

Another factor that complicates this all to pieces is the tons of wood, fabric and plastic that also fed the fire in the WTC, from the furnishings in both the buildings AND the planes, not to mention any natural gas lines that may have existed there.

As I diddle around with these conspiracy weenies and their various web "sources," I'm amazed at the bizarre blend of extreme left and extreme right of the political spectrum. As a peculiar blend of social liberal-atheist-libertarian, I still wind up with extreme ultra-rightwing views on many international issues, so I kind of recognize most of these clowns and have sometimes been in bed with most of them on at least one issue at some point. My gut feeling is that the overwhelming percentage of the more active ones is made up of disenchanted liberal Democrats who are using this issue to hang their maniacal "I Hate Bush" agenda on, and they'd believe absolutely anything (or pretend to) as long as it could be blamed on GWB. He's far from my favorite President, and not nearly conservative enough on many things, but I don't think the guy has a crooked bone in his body, and pretty much genuinely believes he's doing the best he can. And in most cases, he probably is. Personally, I despised Clinton & Co., but my level of dislike and disrespect never reached the point that we see against GWB today. All logic & fairness -- even basic decency -- seems to have disappeared from the leftish side.

I'm glad you're involved in the anti-PETA type legislative fights. Two of the rescue groups we work with keep us up to speed on which legislators to bang on at appropriate times, usually, but the whole idea of legislating dogs offends me anyhow. While I understand the reasoning behind the animal-cruelty laws, originally, they have (as the government always does) expanded animal legislation until the owner is becoming just a caretaker for the government and has little say in the dog's life or its use. With all its warts, I sometimes wonder if, all in all, the dogs weren't better off when they were strictly personal property, period. A few hundred years ago you could do pretty much what you wanted to a dog, but if any well-bred gentleman saw someone mistreating an animal -- dog, horse, cow, whatever --- the offender stood a good chance of getting horse-whipped in public.

I will keep you in mind for any "good news" coming out of Iraq. All the people I served with are even older retired farts. Most of the Colonels I served with in the Pentagon are long retired and making money on the History Channel or Fox News, or in politics. They all made three or four stars after I retired, and most of them served another ten years or so. I was so far removed from the muddy-boots soldiers my last ten years that I don't really even know any soldiers anymore except the ones I see in the VA hospital, where I spend far too much time. My gut feeling from talking to the young guys returning from Iraq is that they believe they should be there, want to win, but are getting really suspicious that they're going to be double-crossed, just like in Vietnam, and the politicians and the media will destroy any hope of victory, or of any hope for the Iraqis that would like to see a secular democracy in place. I hope I'm wrong, but I suspect they're right.

Unfortunately, I lived in the Middle East for years, among the people and not in some American barracks, and I know how dangerous and how crazy Islam really is. Like the Japanese imperialism and the Nazis, in retrospect it was abundantly clear how dangerous they were, but everyone ignored them until it was too late. And now we're doing it again. Very depressing.

Assembly Bill 1634, sponsored by Lloyd Levine, D-Van Nuys, will require all dogs over four months of age be spayed or neutered. The owner must pay for and qualify to receive a virtually unattainable permit if a dog to be exempted. Assembly Bill 1634 will be heard in the Assembly Business and Professions Committee on April 10 at 9:00 a.m.

“California hunting dog enthusiasts must let lawmakers know that they will not be forced to give up their passions because of poorly-written, unjust legislation,” said Rick Story, USSA senior vice president. “Tell state lawmakers that you oppose this overreaching bill that will outlaw the breeding of quality hunting dogs.

The anti’s have marked California’s hound hunting traditions for elimination, but a vigilant sportsmen’s community continues to strike back.

In 2006, the USSA led sportsmen to protect their hobbies and hunting interests by blocking a bill that threatened hunting dog competitors and field coursers. Three years earlier, sportsmen got behind a USSA campaign to defeat legislation that would have banned bear hunting, fox hunting, rabbit hunting, raccoon hunting and more.

Take Action! California sportsmen should attend the Assembly Business and Professions Committee hearing on April 10 at 9:00 a.m. AB 1634 will be heard in Room 447 of the State Capitol in Sacramento. Today Jimmy Carter got on the radio news and stated that the war in Iraq was MORALLY wrong.
Now Mr. Carter,
I have to ask this question.
Was Saddam Hussein a moral person. Was he providing medical care for children and the sick in his country. Was he abiding by United Nations Sanctions from the war he unjustly started with Kuwait. Are the Iraqi people better off today than they were under Sadam Hussein?
NO he was not moral. He allowed his sons to run rough shod around the country. They had rooms set aside for rape and murder of women. He was squirreling away the OIL FOR MEDICINE and Food money into his own bank account and using $50,000 per suicide bomber to attack both Israeli an US Citizens not to mention citizens from around the world. He never abided by the UN Sanctions and had committed Genocide, a crime under the Geneva Convention.
BEYOND that he was promoting terror and looking for ways to attack this country. THAT comes from the Russian Premier who is no friend of the United States...

So apparently those folks who fell off the Unemployment rolls must have found somethig.
OH and that old herring was trotted out under, Ford, Reagan, and Nixon when unemployment went down.. and the reverse was used by Carter and Clinton when they extended unemployment benefits.
Could it be that people like unemployment and take all they can before they get a job?

There are no figures indicating that People have exhausted their unemployment to any significant amount. Tracking of eligibility numbers indicates many are finding jobs and those who do not and fall off at the end of eligibility are in FACT finding employment through Self Ownership of businesses.

Gun Control Fails in Australia...

Small Victory for Sportsmen in Australia

In late March “The Shooters Party” of Australia managed to double its representation in the New South Wales state elections. This victory brings the grand total to only two Senators in the Legislative Council (out of 42), but still gives the “The Shooters Party” a larger voice in the state and presents a growing political threat for anti-gun, anti-hunting members of the legislative body. Australia introduced very restrictive gun licensing in 1996 and banned the private ownership of all semi-automatic longarms, including pump-action shotguns. They also embarked on a “buyback” of these previously legally owned firearms and turned them into scrap metal, costing Australian Tax payers approximately half a billion dollars. Predictably this action has not seen a decrease in crime. SCI will keep you posted.

The fact is that Home Invasions in Australia have increased.. while crime overall has not decreased.

Make your own judgement on this picture and what these young people are trying to say. If you choose to remain uninvolved, do not be amazed when you no longer have a nation to call your own nor anything you have worked for left since it will be "redistributed" to the activists while you are so peacefully staying out of the "fray". Check history, it is full of nations/empires that disappeared when its citizens no longer held their core beliefs and values. One person CAN make a difference. It's painful to watch someone in so much denial. Yet this video was also very educational. It showed me how it was possible for a nation to vote for a failure of a president twice.

The real denial is that YOU and those who believe that the war in Iraq is wrong, are in fact proving Ossama Bin Laden right on a daily basis.
Ossama Bin Laden preaches openly that the United States will NEVER commit to any war any longer. We are not willing to suffer for our freedoms any more. We will pay for our freedom with money and arms but we will not commit our own blood and our own sons and daughters to the fight for our own God and our own FREEDOM.
The insurgency in Iran is dedicated to this. Each and every bomb that goes off is targeted to create as much damage as possible at a time that it can be reported on US Television. He is intentionally driving a wedge into the country, in order to divide us and to beat us.
IF we do not beat this insurgency it will follow us HOME.
You want to believe in this conspiracy because you are a coward. You want to believe that the United States is so terrible that it will kill its own citizens to enslave the rest of the world.
The truth is that the UNITED STATES is the greatest nation on the face of the planet.
We are the most generous, the most technically advanced, the main economic engine for most of the world.
If we are evil and hated, then it is easier for you to turn your life over to people who would destroy this country with silly conspiracy theories and in the end assist the Ossama's of the world to destroy it.
Ossama Bin Laden planned this attack and his Al Queda opperatives carried it out.
Why? Very simple, he attacked the main Economic Center of the world. Many of the worlds major commodities were bought and sold from these buildings as well as large banks, large amounts of silver and gold. IF he got lucky it would put many of the economies on the planet into free fall. This would cause anarchy and Fundamentalist Leaders depend on uneducated ignorant POOR of the world for their mind control.
Destroying the WTC could have done EXACTLY THAT... now would any one in the United States do the one thing that COULD give Ossama Bin Laden the ability to jump start his world domination? NO!
BUT lets look further.
Here are some of the claims I have seen:
There were explosives used to take down the towers.
Thermite or Thermate was used to take down the towers.
NO bodies were found at the crash site in Pennsylvania.
NO PLANE crashed into the Pentagon.
WTC 7 was not hit by a plane so fire could not have weakend it.
WTC 7 was taken down by a fire but it was not hit by a plane.
The building took only seconds to fall which is impossible unless there was a controlled explosion.

MOST if not all of these can be explained OR contradict another claim.
Worse yet.. it would take thousands of pounds of C4 to take the towers down. A van full could not do it. Next is how in the hell did it get set with miles of wire to set it off without the security team finding it.
Setting Thermite or Thermate charges would have required serious amounts of time and access.
Was the security team in on it?
Some are saying the military did it?
What commander in the military would carry out such an order?
The numbers of people necessary for such a cover up is to large. It could not be kept a secret. BEYOND that is the simple fact that each and every disaster in this country is gone over by people looking for discrepancies. There are video cameras EVERYWHERE. NOTHING is a secret any more.
Both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party would have to be involved in the cover up.. LMAO yeah that is gonna happen.

The greatest generation was willing to fight and die to keep its freedom.
This generation is more concerned with who is winning on Idol than in winning the war on terror.

In World War 2 mistakes were made on a daily basis.
The landing on Omaha Beach was a disaster. The press did not report it.
Why? Because our soldiers needed to be confident of their mission and their leaders.
Today the press is doing everything in its power to find fault with this war.
We need to win this war more than World War 2.
Had we lost in WW2 we would have lost our freedom and be speaking german.
IF we lose the war on terror, we will be killed. Our Grandchildren will not be born.

This proves what I have said in the past.
The press is NOT giving the people of the United States all of the information.
It is only reporting the bad things not the progress being made.
This is fueling the Insurgents desire to kill more and more people since the press is concentrating on these deaths. The more the press helps Al Queda the more attacks occur. Al Queda is using our own news agencies to lower the morale of the people in order to create a defeatist belief. How do I know? Because Ossama Bin Laden outlined how he would do it long ago. It is how we lost in Viet Nam and how Bin Laden can defeat the US, over and over.
He is right. America as a people is NOT willing to defend itself if it means the loss of life.
What have news agencies ignored.. How about the defeat of Al Queda in Somalia.
How about the decrease in attacks in Baghdad since the surge started.
Why did Al Queda get run out of Somalia? Because it was too busy in Iraq.

OK let me explain this to you in simple terms Jahrage.
Rosie said no STEEL building has ever fallen due to fire. THIS was about buildings 1 and 2.. not 7.
I will addres the Building 7 issue though.
Building 7 was damaged at its base by the traveling debris field of the WTC 1 and 2.
As the debris piled up gravity acted on it and created a flow of debris that took out support columns on one side of the building. The core of the building is NoT one piece of steel but PIECES of steel riveted together and welded. As the strain of the Extra weight of the building increased due to the FLOOR support being taken out the core began to crack like you would expect. (When you chop down a tree.. you take out one side and the Core CRACKS.. just like steel will on a larger scale)
The building collapesed onto itself from the weight of the upper floors which no longer had any support.
NOW let me go to WTC 1 and 2.
Have you ever heard of a BELLOWS.. It is what iron and steel workers use to bend steel. The planes hit the buildings and went all the way to the CORE of the building. The original fire from the fuel then started wood, curtains fabric and paper burning. The Core acted like a chimney and the heat began to rise in the CORE.
How do we know this.. Well if you listen to the folks on YOUTUBE.. Black smoke is cool and white smoke is hot. Look at the smoke coming from the TOP of the building. IT IS WHITE. It is the smoke running up the CORE to the roof and finding no place to go it vents out the side of the top of the building. The smoke that is dark is at the HOLE in the building where the plane hit it.
THE CORE melted. The steel at the top of the CORE as stated in several videos is thinner, making it more succpetable to heat. As more weight piled on to it the pieces, bolts and the welds began to break. (The rolling popping noises??) Finally interior floors began to break and collapse.. (Maybe why the sound BEFORE the collapes is heard?) As the weight increases the destruction increases in speed.
Rosie Stated that no steel building has ever collapsed from a fire alone...
What she failed to point out was that there was MORE than fire here.
There was a plane crash that took out the insulation that was supposed to protect the buildings steel. IF the insulation stays in tact the building does not fall / Fail.
No one thought about the effect of a plane crash would have on the insulation.
NO I have no scientific background. I offer no proof. I am using common sense and the basic knowledge my College Professors and High School Teachers gave me.
I Listened to these silly disrespectful videos and applied common sense and basic science. PROVE that any of the common sense things I have said are wrong.
BEYOND THAT:
Why and WHO would have done this?
Al Queda took credit for it immediately.
Why do that if they did not do it.
What exactly other than conjecture is there to give anyone the idea that these buildings were destroyed by our own government.
MORE: The plane nonsense in PA.
WHERE ARE THE BODY PARTS? Ok look this is not the first time a plane has crashed and no large body parts were found. The plane that took off from Miami and that crashed straight down into the Everglades.. NO LARGE parts were found but there was no major fire either. Add in a fire fuelded by Jet Fuel and it is possible the body parts burned up.
IF the plane did not crash WHERE ARE THE PEOPLE? Did the goverment kill them?
Were they taken by Aliens?
Where did the plane go if not into that field in PA?
There is no credible explanation as to who did this and why.
We had plenty of reason to go to war with Al Queda. They had attacked us many times during the Clinton Administration.
People you are denegrating the memory of the people who died there with this idiotic idea that there was some multinational conspiracy to kill 3000 Americans and to damage the one building that processed most of the major financial transactions in the world.
Anarchy was a serious possibility if information was not backed up and kept elsewhere. Banks could have failed.. so rich people would not benefit.
Bush? How has he benefitted?
Al Queda is the only answer for any of this.
Could they have planted some explosives in the building.. Hey anything is possible.
The military? HOW. What military leader would have followed such orders.
A conspiracy of this nature and scope would have taken hundreds and maybe even a thousand people to pull off.
NONE have come forward.
To do a demolition of a 110 story building would have taken days to plant the explosives. The number of wires leading to the explosives would have been noticeable and obvious. Where was security when it was being rigged? WAS THE ENTIRE Security force of the WTC in on this?
This was a Terrorist attack. Plain and simple. No one else had a motive or reason to do it.

The attempt to tell the Commanders in the field and Mr. Bush when to end the war is resulting in increased deaths in Iraq. This is due to the simple FACT that is being ignored by the press and the public.
EVERY TIME there is press coverage of America getting out of Iraq the death toll goes up. the terrorists are using our own News Media to get their message of death and destruction out. The news media should be ashamed of itself. It is promoting the very kind of news that Ossama Bin Laden has said would cause the defeat of this country by Militant Islam.

Want more proof.. Here is the law that HSUS sponsored in the State Of Pennsylvania. The law is specifically targeting Hunting animals and Show Dogs. It makes it almost impossible to comply with and extremely expensive in any case.. The object of this legislation is Total Segregation of Animals from man. To end pet ownership.. and if you are laughing at this.. HSUS leaders have targeted ONE GENERATION For the end of pet ownership of ANY KIND. WE MUST STOP THIS LAW FROM BEING PASSED.

Concerns of the
Sporting Dog Community about Proposed Pennsylvania Dog Regulations
Introduction

These regulations represent the most comprehensive set of dog care regulations ever foisted upon the sporting dog community. If enacted, these regulations will cost dog owners thousands of dollars individually; over burden them with a myriad of complicated and sometimes contradictory requirements and open them up to potential prosecution.

The regulations are unnecessarily specific, many times contradictory and often burdensome. While ostensibly aimed at puppy mills, the regulations are an over reach of state authority that would set a new precedent for other states to follow. If enacted these regulations represent a real threat to the future of hunting, field trialing and training of sporting dogs.

Kennel License Requirement

Any person that houses 26 or more dogs at one facility on one calendar year must be licensed as a kennel. This applies to temporary housing such as at a field trial or fox hunt.

Dog Cages and Quarters

• There must be a wall that separates each dog cage from the adjacent

cage.

• Dog must be able to lie down on its side, stand or turn without touching the walls of the entire cage.

Each dog cage shall be at least 5 square feet for a dog weighing 25 pounds or less, 8 square feet for a dog weighing more than 25 pounds but not more than 45 pounds, and 12 square feet for a dog weighing more than 45 pounds.

Shelter size for specific dog must be approved in writing in advance by attending veterinarian.

Whether indoor or outdoor, a fan must be provided anytime the temperature reaches 85 degrees or higher.

The floor temperature of an indoor facility may not be below 35 degrees or above 55 degrees.

Outdoor Dog Shelters

Dogs that are not acclimated to the temperatures prevalent in the area or region where they are being maintained, breeds of dogs that cannot tolerate the prevalent temperatures of the area without stress or discomfort (such as short-haired breeds in cold climate or cold climate breeds--such as huskies--in warm climates), and sick, infirmed, aged or young dogs, may not be kept in outdoor facilities. When a dog's acclimation status is unknown, it may not be kept in an outdoor facility when the ambient temperature is less than 50° F.

Outdoor dog shelters must have a dry shaded area outside the shelter itself so the dog may stay dry before entering the shelter.

The shade must be at least 4 feet deep and at least as wide as the primary shelter itself.

The shelter and run must be flat and level. Conversely the regulation requires that the shelter and run must also have a grade that is more than 1/8 inch per foot and less than 6 inches per 10 feet.

The run associated with each dog box of an outdoor facility must be at least five times the length of the largest dog in that run and two times as wide as the length of the largest dog in that run, as measured from the tip of its nose to the base of its tail.

There cannot be any rust on the fences of dog runs.

Drainage must flow away from the dog run and enclosure and any adjacent run or enclosure.

If a dog run is constructed of concrete and becomes chipped or cracked, it must be repaired as soon as the weather permits.

If a dog run is constructed using gravel, it must be constructed in the following manner: The first layer of gravel or stone must be a course layer of number 2, 3 or 4 crushed durable rock and the top layer of gravel or stone must be a fine layer which fills in the courser layer of stone or gravel and results in an even surface. The first layer must be of a thickness adequate to provide proper drainage (approximately 4--5 inches) and the top layer must be of a thickness adequate to assure none of the bottom layer stones are protruding (approximately 2--5 inches). The surfaces shall be kept in good repair at all times.

Outdoor facilities must be constructed and maintained in a manner and in an area that assures adequate and proper drainage and elimination of standing water, pooled water and mud--even in times of severe weather conditions.

Outdoor facilities, including runs and exercise areas shall be kept free of grass and weeds.

Exercise Requirements

Each dog must be exercised 20 minutes each day while supervised.

Exercise area must prevent dogs from getting muddy or wet, even in inclement weather.

A dog may only miss required exercise with the consent of the Department of Agriculture upon the written determination of the attending licensed veterinarian that the exercise would be detrimental to the health of the dog. The time period for the exemption from exercise shall be defined in the exemption.

There must be daily records maintained of each dog’s exercise. The record shall include the breed, color, markings, sex, approximate weight and age of each dog or when applicable, the microchip number of each dog, and the date and the time period each dog was exercised and whether the exercise was on a leash or in an exercise area.

Dogs must be exercised while segregated by size: less than 35 pounds, 36-60 pounds, 61-90 pounds and 91+pounds.

Dogs must be exercised while segregated by sex unless spayed and neutered.

Cleaning Records
Daily cleaning records must be maintained that contain the date and time of day following conditions were met: The housing facility was cleaned, the housing facility was sanitized, each individual cage, dog box or primary enclosure was cleaned, each food and water bowl was sanitized, and new food and potable water was provided to each dog.

Cleaning must be done with potable water, which is defined as suitable for human consumption.

The facilities shall be cleaned and sanitized every 24 hours.

Tethers
Tethers must be a minimum of 6 feet long or at least five times the length of the dog as measured from the tip of its nose to the base of its tail, whichever is longer.

Quarantine
Any puppies brought into a facility must be quarantined separate from any other new group of puppies for 14 days.

Big Brother will be wathing you in Pennsylvania. Do not miss a day of excercise with your dog.. IF YOU can find a place to do it where there is no other dog..
OR if you can find a place to keep him.
While all hunters and dog owners want the best for their dogs, this law is nothing more than HSUS making it as impossible as they can to own a dog or other animal.

Slippery Slope

You know the country is headed down a slippery slope when the presidential candidates start identifying networks and news agencies as either liberal or conservative.
The shame is that NONE of the networks presents the news any more.
They present opinions and ignore what ever news might point in a different direction.
Neither side is right or wrong. The problem is that the media is now running the country by proxy.
We are winning in Iraq.
How do I know this?
We have killed the head of Al Queda in the Phillipines.
Our allies in Somalia have destroyed the entire Al Queda Network in Somalia and either killed all the members or run them off.
How was this possible?
Al Queda has the same problems as anyone else. With their troops tied up in Iraq, they can no longer help in other areas. Al Queda is too busy with Iraq and Afghanistan to bother with the United States, and with Europe, which in case you have not looked lately has a very large Muslim Population which has rioted in Paris..
Blown up the trains in Spain and caused damage in London...

2000 die on Omaha Beach Alone. US Suffers worst one day losses since the Civil War.
Major flaws in the invasion plan blamed on deaths at Omaha Beach.
Tanks were off loaded in to 30 feet of water short of the beach leaving soldiers with no cover.
Luck prevailed though as the battle was won when elements of one battalion managed to flank the enemy on one side saving tens of thousands more soldiers who were landing on the beach.
German forces believing that the invasion was a fake one to draw them away were encouraged to believe this by the sheer incompetence of the invasion.

The news is supposed to be FACTS.. and the people hearing the FACTS are supposed to analyze it for themselves. Today though with the speed of life we listen to the news media and believe THEIR opinions. Did you ever stop to think who these people are. Some of the experts they parade on any and all networks have their own agendas...

So Mr. Edwards.. if you can not answer questions because FOX is the mouthpiece of the Conservative Movement then you should not be the president of ALL of the people, cause conservatives are part of the country... and you may need us one day since we make up the majority of the armed forces...

The 300 and todays democracy....

I went to see the movie 300 tonite.
I have to wonder if anyone there really understood that it was TRUE History, although Hollywood surely did dramatize it.
The story is about King Leonidas of Sparta, who took 300 Spartan Soldiers to the pass at Thermopolae in Greece. Along with several hundred Acadians they held the pass until the Persians led by a traitor got behind them. The Acadians left the field of battle, but the Spartans by duty and honor would not retreat. They did battle with by some accounts over a million persians.. (Today that would be Iranians, who by the way still call themselves Persians.) of course they died, but in doing so bought time for Greeks to rally and defeat the army of Xerxes.

I wonder if the liberals in Hollywood and in the press understand what this movie really says.
Democracy only stands when good men die for it. Democracy must be defended and good men will volunteer to fight the fight and the people must stand behind them.
We stand at a crossroads as a nation.
Will we defend freedom and democracy?
Or will we ignore the legacy of King Leonidas and the 300... who we owe so much too?
Truly, had Xerxes and his armies won in Greece, Democracy would have died there.
Will we ignore the lessons of history and the lives of 300 souls who died for our freedom.
Will we fail to renew freedom with our blood?

Notes of the Secret Service!!!

The elder Bush and current President Bush make it a point to thank
and take care of the air crews who fly them around.

When the president flies, there are several planes that also go.

One carries the armored limo, another the security detail, plus
usually a press aircraft.

Both Bush's made it a point to stay home on holidays, so the Air
Force and security people could have a day with their families.

WHAT WAS:

Hillary Clinton was arrogant and orally abusive to her security
detail.

She forbade her daughter, Chelsea, exchanging pleasantries with
them.

Sometimes, Chelsea, miffed at her mother's obvious conceit and mean
spiritedness, ignored her demands and exchanged pleasantries regardless, but
never in her mother's presence.

Chelsea really was a nice, kindhearted, and lovely young lady.

The consensus opinion was that Chelsea loved her Mom but did not
like her.

Hillary Clinton was continuously rude and abrasive to those who
were charged to protect her life. Her security detail dutifully did their
job, as professionals should, but they all loathed her, and wanted to be on
a different detail. Hillary Clinton was despised by the Secret Service as a
whole.

Former President Bill Clinton was much more amiable than his wife.
Often the Secret Service would cringe at the verbal attacks Hillary would
use against her husband. They were embarrassed for his sake, by the manner
and frequency in which she verbally insulted him, sometimes in the presence
of the Secret Service, and sometimes behind closed doors.

Even behind closed doors, Hillary Clinton would scream and holler
so loudly that everyone could hear what she was saying.

Many felt sorry for President Clinton and most wondered why he
tolerated it instead of just divorcing his "attack dog" wife.

It was crystal clear that the Clinton's neither liked nor respected
each other, and this was true long before the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
Theirs was genuinely a "marriage of convenience."

Chelsea was much closer to her father than her mother, even after
the Lewinsky scandal, which hurt her gravely. Bill Clinton did in fact have
charisma, and occasionally would smile at, or shake hands with his security
detail. Still, he always displayed an obvious air of superiority towards
them.

His security detail uniformly believed him to be disingenuous,
false, and that he did nothing without a motive that in some way would
enhance his image and political career.

He was polite, but not kind. They did not particularly like him and
nobody trusted him.

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN:

Al Gore was the male version of Hillary Clinton. They were more
friendly toward each other than either of them were towards former President
Clinton. They were not intimate, so please don't read that in. They were
very close in a political way. Tipper Gore was generally nice and pleasant.
She initially liked Hillary, but soon after the election she had her
"pegged", and no longer liked her, or associated with her, except for events
that were politically obligatory. Al Gore was far more left wing than Bill
Clinton. Al Gore resented Bill Clinton and thought he was too "centrist." He
despised all Republicans. His hatred was bitter, and this was long before he
announced for the Presidency. This hatred was something that he and Hillary
had in common.

They often said as much, even in the presence of their security
detail.

Neither of them trusted Bill Clinton and, the Secret Service
opined, neither of them even liked Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton did have some
good qualities, whereas Al Gore and Hillary had none, in the view of their
security details.

Al Gore, like Hillary, was very rude and arrogant toward his
security detail. He was extremely unappreciative and would not hesitate to
scold them in the presence of their peers for minor details over which they
had no control. Al Gore also looked down on them, as they finally observed
and learned with certainty on one occasion. Al got angry at his offspring
and pointed at his security detail and said, "Do you want to grow up and be
like them?"

Word of this insult by the former Vice-president quickly spread,
and he became as disliked by the Secret Service as Hillary.

Most of them prayed Al Gore would not be elected President, and
they really did have private celebrations in a few of their homes after
President Bush won. This was not necessarily to celebrate President Bush's
election, but to celebrate Al Gore's defeat.

WHAT IS:

Everyone in the Secret Service wants to be on First Lady Laura
Bush's detail. Without exception, they concede that she is perhaps the
nicest, and most kind person they have ever had the privilege of serving.

Where Hillary patently refused to allow her picture to be taken
with her security detail, Laura Bush doesn't even have to be asked, she
offers. She doesn't just shake their hand and say, "Thank you." Very often,
she will give members of her detail a kindhearted hug to express her
appreciation. There is nothing false about her. This is her genuine nature.
Her security detail considers her to be a "breath of fresh air." They joke
that comparing Laura Bush with Hillary Clinton is like comparing "Mother
Teresa" with the "Wicked Witch of the North." Likewise, the Secret Service
considers President Bush to be a gem of a man to work for. He always treats
them with genuine respect, and he always trusts and listens to their expert
advice.

They really like the Crawford, Texas detail. Every time the
president goes to Crawford he has a Bar-B-Q for his security detail, and he
helps serve their meals.

He sits with them, eats with them, and talks with them.

He knows each of them by their first name, and calls them by their
first name as a show of affection.

He always asks about their family, the names of which he always
remembers.

They believe that he is deeply and genuinely appreciative of their
service.

They could not like, love, or respect anyone more than President
Bush.

Most of them did not know they would feel this way, until they had
an opportunity to work for him and learn that his manner was genuine and
consistent.

It has never changed since he began his Presidency.

He always treats them with the utmost respect, kindness, and
compassion.

Please pass this on It is important for Americans to have a true
inside understanding of their President. With all the bad press ... here is
something from the insiders.

Well as is the norm, there is not enough money apparently in Commercials on the Super Bowl at 2.6 million per minute, now the National Felony League has decided that church parties and possibly parties at your house are illegal. After all they own the broadcast... HOWEVER since they chose to put it on PUBLIC Airwaves to make money, I suggest that all the churches and organizations that planned to have BIG superbowl parties go right ahead and do it.. Tell the National Felony League to go F**k themselves.
If you do not want people to party then why the damn Beer Commercials and Pepsi and Coke Commercials, party mix, Doritos, Cheetos etc..
Get over yourself NFL. PUBLIC Airwaves means that the people who pay for them get to use them. I doubt that the NFL can really get enough people into the field to even think about taking someone to court and what do you think the public reaction to this will be if they take some church to court over a damn Superbowl Party. The darn parties have been part of the Superbowl since the I st Superbowl and it will be no different for Supervowl XVI or is it XXXXI
Any way they are making ENOUGH and we are paying for it in higher consumer prices so tell the NFL to go F##k itself and have your cotton pickin party.

I just love my new Lexus! It is the first Japanese car that I have purchased since the 1974 260Z.

I bought a new Lexus 350!

However I returned to the dealer yesterday because I couldn't get the radio to work.

The salesman explained that the radio was voice activated: "Nelson," the salesman said to the radio.

The Radio replied, "Ricky or Willie?"

"Willie!" he continued and "On The Road Again" came from the speakers.

Then he said, "Ray Charles!", and in an instant "Georgia On My Mind" replaced Willie Nelson.

I drove away happy. Every time I say, "Beethoven," I get beautiful classical music, and if I say

"Beatles," I get one of their awesome songs.

Today, a couple ran a red light and nearly creamed my new car, but I swerved in time to avoid them. I yelled, "Ass Holes!"

Immediately the French National Anthem began to play, sung by Jane Fonda and Barbara Streisand, backed up by Michael Moore and The Dixie Chicks, with John Kerry on guitar, Al Gore on drums, Dan Rather on harmonica, Nancy Pelosi on tambourine, Harry Reid on spoons, Bill Clinton on sax and Ted Kennedy on scotch.

The media is driving the deaths of our soldiers in Iraq.
WHAT? How can I say that?
Ok, I will make this very easy for you. The media was against the war in Iraq from the beginning. Despite the facts depsite the truths they could not see that getting Sadam Hussein out of Iraq was as important as putting Ossama Bin Laden out of business.
The war at one point was basically won. Within days of our invasion, the people of Iraq WERE happy to see us, at least the majority were. Sunni supporters of Sadam were not because they would now again be in the Minority and not have the army to hold the rest of the country at bay.
Still the war was basically won. Then Al Queda shows up. What Al Queda? YES, Al Queda, only they did not show up they were already there. Al Queda was using Iraq as a new training base. 2 bases were found IN IRAQ. The media covered the discovery for about 3.5 minutes then went back to the WMD's we were not finding.. (See previous post about WMD's that WERE found in Iraq.)
At one point the United States had rebuilt Iraq to a point where more people had running water and electricity and phone service than they had had under Sadam for years. Still the press ignored the positives and enhanced the negatives and with each polling point the attacks by Al Queda in Iraq increased. All in an attempt to start a Civil War which Al Queda knew would further decrease American approval numbers for the war.
The Media blitz against the war, the minor losses which we have suffered in the 4 years since the start of the war have been played up as terrible and terrific losses. Al Queda is a more terrible enemy than the Nazi's and we lost 250,000 killed in World War 2. Today we are upset at 3100 deaths. Ossama Bin Laden is right, the United States no longer has the will to win a war. We are not willing to pay the price to defeat this enemy, to insure our freedom and that of our European brothers with one small victory in a country that is central to the Arab Culture.
It is cowardice and it is killing our young men and women. With every point the war loses in popularity, the attacks increase. With every election Al Queda votes for us, by killing more of our young men and women so that we will elect MORE COWARDS, who are unwilling to defeat the Islamic Terrorists.
This is a winnable war.
However, it will not be won as long as the people in this country are not willing to accept some loss of life. We have lost only 3100 people in Iraq. Fewer still in Afghanistan. WAR is HELL for those who fight it. We have a volunteer army willing to fight in this war, but you can not fight if your country is not behind you.
We will fail in Iraq. Islamic Terrorists will begin to dismantle the European countries and in the end, the United States will be isolated from the rest of the world. We can fight now, while these countries do not have the terrible nuclear weapons or we can fight later when the whole planet will be destroyed and willingly so, so that all can meet Allah. These people hate life and crave death so that they can go to heaven.
The next war will be fought with spears and arrows.

The Diplomats pointed to the Koran and told Jefferson that since they were infidels that the Koran gave them justification to do anything they wanted since Infidels were not people of God.
Jefferson sent the Diplomats on their way and shortly there after stopped paying the $10Million to the Tripoli Government. Instead he sent them a note.. I will spend 10 Times $10 Million to defeat you before I will pay one dime of tribute to your God.
Thus the attack on Tripoli by the Marines and a short lesson on why Thomas Jefferson owned a Koran. It was NOT because he sought enlightenment and insight into a religion, it was because it was given to him by men trying to convert him and who were killing Americans.

The head of Al Queda in the Phillipines has been killed in a gun battle in the Phillipines it has been reported. The FBI has verified the DNA is that of Janjalani and Sulaiman the Al Sayaf leader.
Somalia and now the Phillipines are running Al Queda out of their countries and the war in Iraq is partially responsible for this. The failure of any one to draw this conclusion is amazing. Operations like Al Queda when brought to conflict in one central area, unable to refinance and reman forces spread out over the Middle East and Southeast Asia can not sustain themselves and the war in Iraq is taking its toll on Al Queda funds and manpower.
George W. Bush and the current administration took the proper actions by invading Iraq and Afghanistan after 9-11.

Mr. Bush has made the hard decisions. It is easy to make everyone happy. Just do what the majority wants and you will never go wrong.. OOOPS.. that mentality is what caused 9-11. Failure to make the hard decisions during the Clinton Administration are why we are at war. Had Clinton not cut the Intelligence Budget after the FIRST ATTACK on the World Trade Center. Had Clinton not tried to prosecute the terrorists instead of KILL THEM. Had Clinton not done the popular and done the hard things 9-11 might not have happened. There is a direct correlation to the Clinton Years and the attempts to be Politically Correct and the ending result which was the death of almost 3000 Americans and world citizens on 9-11.
WE the US, tried to appease the terrorists for years. Chamberlain tried to appease Hitler.. it did not work. In the end every dictator and ever war that was averted, ended up being fought against a stronger enemy, and killed more people. Had we eliminated Sadam 10 years prior during the Clinton Administration when Sadam showed his true intents by attempting the Murder of George Bush Sr. we would not be here.
Mr. Bush has shown a strength of character that is much like that of Churchill. You remember Churchill, he wanted to go to war with Germany and was defeated by Chamberlain who appeased him. We had WWII any way. "Peace in our time" will never come as long as we negotiate with Tyrants.
Mr. Bush understands this. He may not be the enigmatic speaker that Churchill was, but he is right. WE the US can not afford to lose in Iraq, or in Afghanistan. Losing would mean more terror, would strengthen the power of the Wahabi Sect Mullah's and in the end mean the end of our civilization since we have allowed these fanatics to infiltrate most of Europe, Canada, Australia and our own country.

I am not a flag waiver, unless putting up a flag after 9-11 makes me one.
I am however a son of World War II. The war of our greatest generation. The generation that lost over 250,000 killed in action in a war that lasted from Dec. 7, 1941 to August of 1945 .. just over 3 years.
We fought a terrible man who killed well in excess of 10 million people not on the battle field but in Concentration Camps. 6 Million Jews, 2 Million Gypsy's and reportedly 1.5 Million Catholics. ( Working from memory here )
He killed the handicapped, the deformed, anyone who would dirty the gene pool. He was a Eugenics Believer. (A silly science that actually had its beginnings in the early 1900's in the United States.)
Now we are engaged in a war with people who would do the same thing. Yes, the SAME exact thing that Hitler would do, Ossama Bin Laden and his Wahabi Sect Believers would kill all Jews, Christians, anyone who would not believe in Islam.
Liberals do not understand the enemy. They think that this enemy was born from the mistreatment of Arab nations and peoples in the 20th Century. This is not the case. Our actions in Iraq, Iran, and the rest of the Middle East are not why they "Hate" the United States. WE are not responsible for this hate.
This hatred has its roots in late 1700's Politics and is rooted even further in the history of the middle east.

Al Queda is in Iraq, it is pinned down. It has put all of its resources into this war in order to prove its point that the Wahabi Sect of Islam is capable of defeating the Infidels. Failure to realize this will mean terrible destruction and a continuation of the terror attacks on the world. We have no choice but to defeat Al Queda IN Iraq.
I have to wonder if we had fought the Second World War now if we would have won. Would we have bailed over 3100 casualties. We lost 250,000 in World War 2 and we are willing to pull out over 3100 deaths. WHAT MESSAGE ARE WE SENDING to the Wahabi Sect Believers if we leave. Just because there is no ARMY does not mean we are not in danger. The war will come to this country.
Pulling out of the Middle East, Independence from Oil, nothing short of conversion to Islam will end this terror.
Ossama has bet the house and the movement on THIS war.
The press is misreporting and spinning this. The press was against the war and is ONLY looking for information to back their own view. Occasionally they goof and show a soldier or his family supporting the war and what it is about and allow these people to say why. My guess is to say that we need to protect these poor misguided people.
President Bush made a statement the other day. He is not doing his job to be popular. This was a courageous statement. It is easy to rule by popularity and by having some kind of poll taken each week like Clinton did. It is harder to govern and do the right thing when the majority believe you are wrong and your message will not get out.
IF this were World War 2 I suggest that the people of this country would have shut down the New York Times, and the Washingtong Post and lynched many of the current News Media talking heads. Today we just believe we are wrong. WE BLAME ourselves for this.
Sadam Hussein was actively seeking ways to attack the United States. (Soviet Union backs this up)
He was harboring terrorists who had killed American Citizens.
There were 2 Al Queda Training Camps in the country, one was a MOCK AIRPORT set up to train operatives how to take over a plane. It was so good we had planned on taking it in the first day of the war to have a base for our planes. When Turkey would not let us over fly it was discarded and taken several weeks into the invasion.
There were WMD's found in Iraq. The press has ignored this, in order to perpetuate the LIE. (See this blog and information previously reported about WMD)
Sadam had killed hundreds of thousands of his own people and his sons had run RAPE rooms where they kidnapped, raped and murdered women.
Sadam was actively funding terror bombers in Palestine.
Sadam had thumbed his nose at the UN for 9 years.
Al Queda is IN IRAQ.
One more time, they are there because they BELIEVE that if they can defeat our army they can start a movement to destroy Western Nations. WE MUST WIN IN IRAQ, or our children and their children will be fighting for their lives for another Century.

When the Majority is WRONG!

Look back in History. Winston Churchill was often in the minority, but Churchill was RIGHT on each and every issue of his time.
We look back on Churchill with reverence. Still the truth is that Churchill foresaw the Nazi threat and warned that appeasement would never stop the Nazi's or quench their thirst for world domination.
George Bush has this vision. He sees that this country and many of its citizens are JUST LIKE what Ossama Bin Laden says is true.. we are weak, we are cowards, we value life above our values.
I will admit that mistakes have been made in Iraq, but the plain truth is the Invasion of Iraq was necessary to stop a man who was murdering millions and had visions of ruling the Arab world, taking control of the Majority of the worlds energy sources and destroying the United States.
Beyond that was the simple fact that Iraq was TRYING to find a way to attack the United States. EVEN the Russian Intelligence community backs President Bush on this and the press and the media ignored this and still do.
We are winning the war in Iraq. We can see it in Somalia. Islamic Fascists have been thrown out of Somalia and the terror of Islamic Warlords is basically over. This would have been impossible if NOT for the war in Iraq. The pressure put on the Al Queda system has damaged them and made it impossible to send reinforcements to places like Somalia.
We have to continue this pressure and to expand out mission.
WE HAVE to help the people of Iraq to build business and to provide jobs and education to prevent the growth of the Wahabi Sect (Al Queda's Religious Belief System) and the type of Islamic Fundamentalism that is rampant in poor countries.
We have to give hope where there is none. To make Life worth more than death.
Failure to do so will mean our children and grandchildren are still fighting this war.

Then of course they went to a soldier who just came back.. a Captain I believe, who did not believe the troop surge would help. MEDIA LIBERALS STILL LOVE SADDAM I didn't support the Iraq war and I oppose the death penalty - but the nonstop outrage and criticism of the trial and execution of Saddam Hussein is puzzling. Somehow, most of our nation's newspapers and magazines overlooked the core of this story: An evil dictator was brought to justice - the people he tortured, murdered and oppressed turned around and put him on trial, then carried out the sentence. How often does this happen in our world? Pretty much never. Yet The New York Times (in news and opinion pages alike) has relentlessly criticized nearly every aspect of the process, only paying lip service Saddam's heinous crimes. USA Today's editorial board criticized the trial and execution and then assessed the whole episode as basically inconsequential. (Tell that to the millions of Iraqis who suffered under Saddam). Oddly, most of the complaints ignored the many problems with the death penalty. Instead, critics were consumed by how unfairly Saddam was allegedly treated. Particularly distressing to this crowd was the "taunting" of the Butcher of Baghdad. Huh?

Rabbits and rabid dogsIf angry dog owners concerned about the city's new ordinance weren't enough, now there is another group that's worried about the law: rabbit owners and breeders.

Pamela Alley, director of the Rabbit Industry Council, wrote to say that breeders and people who participate in animal shows are worried about coming to Louisville in 2008 for the American Rabbit Breeders Association national convention.

In an interview, Alley said the members fear that "overzealous animal-control officers" will come into their hotel rooms and seize their pets because the new ordinance puts restrictions on animal sales.

So, So far we have the Louisville Dog Show in danger, the Rabbit Breeders Show in danger, will there be a problem with the Louisville Sport Boat and Vacation show? They have in the past had animal acts? How much more damage to the cities economic welfare will the "Mayor For Life" tolerate before dumping this idiotic dog ordinance..
Worse yet he says the it is a "Work in Progress". He also asked Meloche a HSUS supported administrator to NOTIFY him of problems...????? Now would Meloche find putting an animal show out of business a problem? Would HSUS find it a problem? HELL NO. Basically the Cat is in charge of watching the mouse...?

Mayor Abramson, Why can't police find evidence?

It is being reported this morning that a break in a murder case almost 3 months ago, is due to a local resident finding a shell casing at the scene of the original crime. Just feet away in some brush and flowers an empty bullet casing was found.
NOW, I want to know why police could not find this evidence.
I know of at least 1 other case where evidence was compromised and the murder is unsolved.
Mayor Abramson and Chief White have decimated the ranks of our police. With merger of city and county we lost experienced detectives who KNOW how to solve these crimes. It is time for Mayor Abramson to replace Chief White and to ask former Detectives to come back to assist in training their replacements and to look at unsolved cases with fresh eyes. It will cost, and the Mayor is responsible for this so the Mayor should give up his salary for at least the next year until the unsolved rate on murders in the city decreases to less than 10%, and that number is still unacceptable. There should NOT be more than one murder per year in this city that is unsolved.
Chief White must go.
His incompetence in getting training for new detectives is part of the problem that is endemic in the department and the rise of murder in this city.
The finding of new evidence in the Highlands Murder Case is outrageous. NO Evidence less than 3 feet from a murder should ever be found 3 months later. There is now doubt about the evidence that any criminal lawyer could exploit. This is UNACCEPTABLE and definitely reason for firing some detective and his boss.

that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds
of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated scores of
communities and cut power to 10's of thousands.

FYI:

George Bush did not come.

FEMA did nothing.

No one howled for the government.

No one blamed the government.

No one even uttered an expletive on TV

Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit.

Our Mayor did not blame Bush or anyone else.

Our Governor did not blame Bush or anyone else, either.

CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX or NBC did not visit - or report on this category 5
snowstorm.

Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards.

No one asked for a FEMA Trailer House.

No one looted.

Nobody - I mean Nobody demanded the government do something.

Nobody expected the government to do anything, either.

No Larry King, No Bill O'Rielly, No Oprah, No Chris Mathews and No Geraldo Rivera.

No Shaun Penn, No Barbara Striesand, No Hollywood types to be found.

Nope, we just melted the snow for water.

Sent out caravans of SUV's to pluck people out of snow engulfed cars.

The truck drivers pulled people out of snow banks and didn't ask for a
penny.

Local restaurants made food and the police and fire departments delivered
it to the snowbound families.

Families took in the stranded people - total strangers.

We fired up wood stoves, broke out coal oil lanterns or Coleman lanterns.

We put on extra layers of clothes because up here it is "Work or Die".

We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get us out of a
mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that trades votes
for 'sittin at home' checks.

Even though a Category "5" blizzard of this scale has never fallen this
early, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves.

"In my many travels, I have noticed that once one gets north of about 48
degrees North Latitude, 90% of the world's social problems evaporate."

It does seem that way, at least to me.

I hope this gets passed on.

MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) - Somali troops backed by Ethiopians prepared to launch a major assault Friday on the last stronghold of Islamic movement militiamen. U.S. Navy warships were patrolling off the Somali coast to prevent the militiamen from escaping by sea.

The Somali and Ethiopian forces captured a southern town near the Kenyan border Thursday evening. Col. Barre "Hirale" Aden Shire, the Somali defense minister, said Islamic militiamen were dug in with their backs to the sea at Ras Kamboni at the southernmost tip of Somalia.

"Today we will launch a massive assault on the Islamic courts militias. We will use infantry troops and fighter jets," said Shire, who left for the battle zone Friday. "They have dug huge trenches around Ras Kamboni but have only two options: to drown in the sea or to fight and die."

Somali government and Ethiopian troops routed the Council of Islamic Courts militia last week, driving them out of the capital and their strongholds in southern Somalia.

Abramson is a Disaster for Louisville.

The Louisville Metro Council over reacting to 2 Pit Bull attacks in the city, decided to pass an ordinance to reduce the possibility of more attacks in the city.
Problem is they had the HSUS help them to write the ordinance. Well 9 REVISIONS, and several votes later the city passed an ordinace RIFE with problems and denial or rights, which punishes LAW ABIDING citizens.
The worst part of the Ordinance is the Mandatory Spay rule.
If your dog manages to get out and get picked up by the Dog Warden, then to get the dog back you must have the dog spayed or neutered.. NO EXCEPTIONS. The ordinance also targets the annual Louisville Dog Show with rules and regulations that targeted the dogs. While the portions of the ordinance that SPECIFICALLY targeted the dogs from outside the city was removed, the council has a bad reputation for coming back later to add MORE to an ordinance. Louisville passed a smoking ordinance that allowed restaurants to add EXPENSIVE smoking rooms then came back a year later to ban even special ventilation, costing some restaurants Thousands of Dollars for investing in the smoking rooms.
This Louisville Dog ordinance was so important that Wayne Chapell of the HSUS came to the city on 2 occasions to promote it.
The end result is an ordinance that takes the rights of Pet Owners in the City.
Mayor Abramson was at one time one of the best Mayors in the country. His latest reign as the Mayor though has been a disaster.
While he is an awesome recruiter of business to the city, the cities infrastructure, police, and emergency services have suffered greatly, and worse the murder rate in the city has sky rocketed as have UNSOLVED HOMICIDES with almost 60% of Homicides in the City NOT being prosecuted within a year, and Cold Cases, languishing.
The "Mayor for Life" as some call him, is becoming more and more liberal. His actions have denied rights to people in the city, and he is more and more making decisions like he is KING. An ineffective Republican Party in Jefferson County has been unable to mount any significant attack on the man who Illegally used Imminent Domain to move thousands of families to double the size of Louisville's Airport.
While the airport has helped to make Louisville more attractive to business, it destroyed entire neighborhoods and Court Decisions later agreed with residents whose land was taken for Private Business that they should not have been forced to leave.

ETA has not claimed responsibility, but the armed group is the only suspect in the bombing, which left one man dead, another missing and the nine-month-old peace process in ruins.

Ummm Mr. Prime Minister, your country caved in to Muslim Terrorists when they bombed a train station. What would ever make you think that your comments would deter bombers from attacking you AGAIN! You basically said when you pulled your troops out of Iraq that you WOULD CAVE IN to terror. WILL NOT be "INTIMIDATED" yeah right and the sun rises in the South too.
